I love Mui Wo and the Silvermine Bay. The place is easy to reach, it’s relatively quiet, and there are also some simple shops and supermarkets where I can buy my lunch or drinks. Finally, there are some beautiful beaches. Most of you may know the Silvermine Bay Beach. But if you hike around 30 minutes towards Man Kok, you will find a more quiet, small and clean beach on the right side.
I explored this area some days ago. Here is my video.
How you can reach this place
From Central: Catch the ferry to Mui Wo from Pier 6 at the Central Ferry Pier. Once you arrive at Mui Wo, you follow the coastline. You will automatically see the Silvermine Bay Beach on the right side after around 5 minutes.
If you follow the street from the Silvermine Bay Beach towards Man Kok, you will reach the small beach in my video in around 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I could not find out the name of the beach. If you know the name, please leave a comment below. Be aware, at the small beach is no infrastructure. No toilets, no showers, no shops! You can also rent a kayak at the Silvermine Bay, and reach this remote beach on the water.
On the Silvermine Bay beach itself, you cannot just rent a kayak. You will find some restaurants, some small shops, and you have a toilet and shower. Lifeguard service is provided at this beach.
